Book List...

the last "real novel" I read was was Profiles In Courage about 1972...I'm not much of a reader, but I do like picture books...Most of my creative inspiration and obsession for collecting has come from picture books...During the 80s and 90s I was a book buying sob and amassed a library of nearly 1000 books, yet everytime I visit the book shelf, to this day, I still walk away with the same dozen or so books that ignited my passion so many years ago...here's a list of my Favorites in no particular order...

Mid-Century Modern by Cara Greenberg...back in the 80s I was heavy into selling Original Art Deco and 50s Modern...for the Modern Buyers and Sellers this was the Bible...

The Encyclopedia of Bad Taste...Bad Taste never goes out of style... everything "Cheesy" and "Kitschy" can be found in this book...

60s! by John and Gordon Javna...Peace, Love and Batman!

Big City Junk by Mary Randolph Carter made Distress, Rust and Original Patina COOL!

The Whole Pop Catalog...a must-have for the Kitsch Lover in me...

How the West was Worn by Holly George-Warren and Michelle Freedman ...someday I will find a Nudie Suit!

Hatch Show Print...If you are ever in Nashville, this place still exists and worth stopping by...

Found Object Art by Dorothy Spencer...love this book...it always inspires my next Art Project...this book made re-use, re-cycle and re-purpose cool way before its time...

Some People Cant Surf The Graphic Design of Art Chantry by Julie Lasky...Art was a posterman for the alternative music scene...his use of vintage TV and Magazine Advertising
Icons and Trademarks took re-use, re-cycle and re-purpose to a NEW level...

The Machine Age in America...One of my all-time-favorites!...this book accompanied a museum exhibit and made the words "streamline" and "machine age" the new descriptives for "the art" of Industrial Design...

Toy Bop by Tom Frey...beautiful Photos of 1950s and 60s Toys...this book made me see the beauty of PLASTIC!

Vintage Denim by Little/Bond...back in the early 90s this was my treasure hunting guide for finding Vintage Denim and before sending my goods off to Pocatello Idaho...

Happy Hunting! Kevin
